Kaddish For a Dog

Our family, the Borensteins went to the country, Val Morin for the summer and the Kramers were there too. Rabbi Kramer would give a Shiur in ‘Ein Yakov’ and lots of people would attend. Once a man whom they had not seen before, burst into the Shule while Rabbi Kramer was giving the Shiur and cried to Rabbi Kramer that his dog died and he wants to say Kaddish for his dog. All the adults and all the children who were there waited with great anticipation to see what Rabbi Kramer would say. “Kaddish”, Rabbi Kramer said “I don’t know whether you could say it. But one thing I do know is that you could surely daven.” After that the man came in every day to daven and put on Tefillin.
